About
The National Association of Workshop Providers is a limited company formed in 2007. Its express purpose is to match schools with providers through a user-friendly database search. It draws together the expertise of a range of providers from architects to musicians, from scientists to dance animateurs, all of whom have experience of working in schools and colleges. The NAWP website offers a unique online referencing system allowing schools to update a provider's profile and so maintain quality assurance. NAWP also has the capacity to analyse all feedback and offer training to make workshop experiences educationally sound.
Once registered NAWP associates undertake responsibility for managing their own homepage and updating their information as required. Associates are also allowed access to a controlled forum.
NAWP Ltd is not an agency: schools are not charged for using the site and providers are not levied on the workshops they offer to schools. Providers gain association through the provision of appropriate references and by payment of an annual subscription fee (normally £50). For a short period we are able to offer free registration to experienced workshop providers.
NAWP's managing director is John Rice. John has worked in education for many years and fulfilled a multitude of roles including teacher, headteacher, ITT, assessment and government research. He has also written on educational matters for a number of periodicals, written creatively for BBC web content, and authored and reviewed software materials. He has a firm commitment to widening the curriculum and ensuring that pupils have access to a wide range of exciting experiences.
